Effing Fay...

Oh yippie-skippie, it's hurricane season again. Fay's barreling down on the south coast of Florida, due to hit sometime Tuesday night. And of course the "cone of uncertainty" shows it hitting anywhere from the far south of our fair state up to shooting straight into Tampa Bay.

I live in the central portion of Florida, which you would think would mean that since we're inland hurricanes aren't such a worry. Well, I thought that until 2004 when Charlie, Frances, and Jeanne all criss-crossed the state and made direct freaking hits on my town. It was unbelievable.

We'll see if Tropical Storm Fay is going to organize herself better after she gets to water again. From what I can tell she's crossing over Cuba at the moment, so there's a fair stretch she'll have to gain strength and hit hurricane level.

Time to stock up on the box wine. Nothing says "get me through a hurricane" like Franzia.

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the blog and leaving a comment. Hope you'll be able to check out the show live - It's a great time!

Those forecasts as so unpredictable! Hope Fay turns and avoids where you're at altogether. You're right, get more wine

Yep, yep... wine it is. I stocked up on Diet Coke already. Might need some Doritos too, now that I think about it...

Hurricanes are NOT a time to be dieting! No siree!

Hi! You're back! Thanks for the comment on my blog so it alerted me to your return to the blogosphere! I should have you in my Google reader so I'd have known already. Will do that right now. I don't always use the Google Reader to read blogs but sometimes when I'm behind I do as I can see right away who's updated and who hasn't.

I just caught up on all your recent posts and am sending you lots of positive thoughts for you on your diet...something I need to do as well. I hear ya on the backside thing - in my case it's the thighs. No matter how skinny I ever was, the thighs were bigger than the rest of me. Right now they look like tree trunks...time to go back on Weight Watchers.

Wine should definitely help get through the hurricane. Let's hope it's a mild one. Here in NJ we usually just get a heck of a lot of rain when there's a former hurricane going by. Floyd in 1999 was the worst - our local stream in the park flooded the entire park and everyone in the vicinity got water in their basement (not us though because we're far enough away.) Hope you make it through unscathed! But it is a good excuse for wine and Doritos.
